IN RESPONSE TO A VERY RUDE COMMENT LEFT ON ONE OF MY CHAPTERS!
So, I got a comment from a reader saying something along the lines of "Why are all of your added characters males, all white, and all straight?"
First of all, not all of my added characters are males.
I have two added female characters for about 8 added male characters. The reason? Every character I add is because they're played by my favorite actor of another fandom. For example, Noah's character is based off Noah from TWD, Alec's is based on Eddie Munson from Stranger Things.
If I really like an actor and a character, I bring them in to my book in different ways. I just so happen to like male characters more, or the actors more.
Second point, all white??? Noah is black, Glenn is Asian, Joaquin is Mexican.
And third of all, all straight? Let's ignore the fact that Noah and Joaquin are explicitly in a relationship? Cause I'm sure I made that very clear. Also made it very clear that the main character is a bisexual.
Down the lines of the original comment (which I have deleted since it was extremely rude and called me multiple slurs), it was also claimed that I am a misogynistic, anti women writer.
I am a woman.
I never claimed to be against woman, have never acted that way, don't believe in that.
I'm a true believer of the feminist move, of equality and respect.
I'm sorry if I don't have enough female characters, but this is my book and I can write it how I want.
I try my best with representative for different types of woman, and I'm sorry if I failed at that, it was not my intention.
In my biased opinion, I'd say my female characters are well writen, not perfect, but also not bad to the point where I get called a misogynist.
