dear wattpad readers and authors,
i am not an author, I am just a regular reader who loves Michael Jackson fanfiction. In the past, my accounts were deleted by Wattpad for no good reason!! which happens sometimes. i never wrote books!! I only voted and commented :3
lately, i have been really sad to see the fighting between readers and authors. Everyone has an opinion, but when people start fighting, no one really wins. i am not taking sides. i see both viewpoints, and here is what I notice>>
the anti-ai--
i understand your concerns. ai can hurt the environment, and it makes readers wonder if an author actually wrote the story themselves. It is okay to be upset and explain your side. however, some people are taking it too far and being disrespectful just to get others to stop using ai.
as a reader, i notice that about 7 out of 10 popular books on wattpad seem to use ai. to me, if the story is good, I don't mind. plus, they said ai cannot write a whole book by itself, the author still has to give it the ideas and direction.
the pro-ai side----
If you use AI, you need to be open to hearing other people's opinions, as long as they are respectful, and i saw alotbof debates online not jst here, but on insta, and we all know about why some are anti ai.
but using ai to check grammar or translate is completely fine, especially since not everyone speaks perfect English.
for fact-
ya know, wattpad readers will read what they like. jst like me, if i love the story i will read it.
well, to move on..
stop the rporting and just block them.. arguing gets us nowhere.
wattpad is for reading!!!! this platform was made for books, not for drama. if you want to debate, please use ig, tiktok, or facebook. do not use wattpad to spread hate or what ever it is.
respect the freedom to write!!!
every author has the freedom to publish what they want. some authors use ai to rewrite books or make covers, while others write completely on their own. both ways are fine..
