My daily work is a cobbling together of several intersecting pieces: poetry, reviewing, teaching and creating opportunities for diverse writers and writing students. A first generation Canadian, I was born in Ottawa and graduated with a B.A. in Honours English at York University and an M.A. in English and Creative Writing at the University of Toronto.I was the 2015 winner of the Prism International Poetry contest and my first chapbook, Occasional Emergencies, was published with Toronto's Odourless Press in 2013 and my second, Hanging Exhibits, with The Emergency Response Unit in 2016. Admission Requirements, my debut collection of poetry, is forthcoming from McClelland and Stewart in spring 2017.
