If you like romantic comedy with a dash of drama, Ouran high school host club is the quintessential shojo. Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun gives insight into the lives of people who work on manga while creating comedic, interesting characters. Kaguya-sama: Love is War has some of the best 3 dimensional characters I've ever seen and has great character interactions, as well.
I don't really have any recommendations in terms of animes with good plot. I prefer slice of life comedies, but I know popular animes like Death Note and My Hero Academia to be more plot-oriented.

Hey, the first chapter was really good! I love the platonic dynamic between Xavier and Elena. The characters feel real and fleshed out, and there's no info-dumping (which is a mistake I see many authors make). Minor grammar mistakes *everyone makes them!*, but unlike most Wattpad books, it doesn't detract from the reading experience. It really got me hooked. Can't wait to read more! :)
