OK❗
I need to take a step back and analyze where Toma (Y/n) of my Dragon Ball fic lies and Why he really even exists. I want to tell a story with him but he more or less feels flat to me and Launch as well.
Like, for the most part, she's been nothing but 'his friend/love interest' and idek what he is to her.
She doesn't voice her problems of him, she always takes the most reasonable side, and STINKS of just being wife material for no reason.
CLEARLY THIS IS A PROBLEM
Also need to work on his interactions and relationships with the Z-fighters and non fighters; because, outside from Vegeta, Goku and whoever the fuck, this man does NOT interact with people
Which makes sense given her personality in Z, but in Super.......well, he does go out due to events of the Xicor SAGA so I'd say that's fine but still, yell get my frustration.
Was watching this rather insightful yt vid on HELLUVA BOSS of all shows and found that they made some good points concerning character interactions and relations with things to consider when making a character....a character rather than a self instert and hollow shell.
Because, and here's a problem I KNOW is gonna come.
What does Toma contribute to the plot of Dragon One aside from fighting to prevent the big bad evil?
He doesn't actively seek out the next conflict to drive the plot, said next conflict doesnt start because of him nor his actions. He's LITERALLY a reactionary deutertagonist.
God I have so much love for this man (pause) in my heart but he's so bland and dry right now, it makes sense why I imagine no-one else does
