Been a while since I last posted, no?

With the Netflix release of the anime version of Trese, I just recalled how I also had an inspiration for the feared number in one of my works. If you read Countdown to Inferno, which I am quite confident you have not, there was literally a chapter discussing 13 islands south of the Republic of Dalreida. And guess what, it is also the 13th chapter, too. Coincidence?

Anyway, here is the chapter for your perusal. Read at your own risk, if you choose to read.

Congratulations to all the winners of #Wattys2020. You are an inspiration to all who continue to write their hearts out.

Then again, what did I learn in the past 7 years I have been submitting entries to the Wattpad Awards?

My works are garbage. Trash. Rubbish. A 10 year old could have written better, and that is doing injustice to the kid.

That's right. What else to explain this loss? Writing experience and passion to the discipline is not sufficient to win it. In the end, the market wants what the market wants. No sugarcoating it with "you can do better" or "it does not mean it is not good" and so on. Any creator can call their works masterpieces, but those who do not see their weaknesses and mend them are bound by their hubris.

I suppose this is a formal declaration of what I have been doing anyway in the past months - an indefinite hiatus in story writing. Nobody is reading anyway, so why bother? Maybe my type of creativity is not the kind this era wants. Fine and well. I am also withdrawing some of my works because, apparently, it is just a waste of digital space. This I have pondered during the waiting time of the Wattys results, and sure, it might sound crazy, but this is just about it.

One has to be able to distinguish the difference between an unwinnable battle and a battle lost. I have no talent here, and no amount of training and more training helped me catch the gap. Better call it a decade and find better pastures.

Call me negative, but pragmatism is not pessimism. Hope we all survive this crisis and see each other soon. Probably not with me as a writer, but God knows.

Here goes my last novel ever to be completed. Not my best but why not?

Thank you for the past decade. Time to move forward and reach for new goals.

It's been a month since I last posted anything? Surely you don't miss my updates! But anyway, Black Lives Matter. I didn't realize I wrote such a chapter tackling socioeconomic inequality with my latest latest novel Countdown to Inferno until now...

          https://www.wattpad.com/833750781-countdown-to-inferno-chapter-21-beggar-king

Chapter 21 Beggar King sure reminds of some references in Asia, but I meant him and his followers to be poor and of dark skin. I don't know really know why now that I look back at writing this part. Should I tell more? Read for yourself today and let me know what you think in the comments.

Yeah, it's not great. Some readers dropped it at the first chapter, but I would really appreciate if you do check it out. As the saying goes, jiejiao e you, baihuai shan de. Ad aspera ad astra ad aspera.

Here I am criticizing the feminist revisionism of the newest production by Netflix called Cursed for treating the Arthurian story through the lens of the Lady of the Lake, but I actually wrote a chapter inspired partly by King Arthur's legendary sword Excalibur with, well, just check it out to see my hypocrisy shine.

Read one of the more popular chapters in my latest, latest novel Countdown to Inferno - Chapter 15 Excalator Strikes. Let me know your thoughts and insights on this garbage in the comments.

I guess being too original does not rake up the views and reads, you think so?

GOOD NEWS!

Now that's something we don't hear often. It's been a while since I posted last, and yes, I'm quite busy. But another reason is that my latest latest novel Countdown to Inferno just won 1st place in the Mystery/Thriller category of Love Yourself Awards. If that is not even enough, it also won as best cover! It took me this long just to recover from surprise. I never thought this is worth anything, really, especially after the bad reviews and comments and all that.

In a time when all seems to be going bad, especially for garbage like this my works, we are shown from time to time that wonders await for us if we endure. They say not all who succeed work hard, but all who work hard succeed. What timing to lift up my spirits. So, if you have not checked it out, you still can and let me know what you think. Many thanks!

PS. There are more awards out there, and some of them require nomination. If you think mine deserves a spot, feel free to nominate and let me know, too!

So, the Fiction Awards 2020 has just opened. Here we go! Like what I said last time, it would be an honor for me if you do nominate my latest latest novel Countdown to Inferno, but of course, each to his own preference. If any of my other works also touched you, why not? And if you do nominate, please leave a reply here so I can acknowledge you.

I know my works are total garbage, but at least, to be able to compete via your nomination is enough of an appreciation. Many thanks and God bless!

Been a while since I posted last... Quite busy with a lot of things, and my inability to finish any writings. So much about pursuing writing both as a personal passion and a professional occupation.

Anyway, just learned that @thefictionawards is launching this year's edition of their book awards, and this is to be done by nomination by readers. I know there aren't a lot of you, but if you enjoyed my latest latest novel, Countdown to Inferno, then I would very much appreciate if you nominate it.

Yes, it is not my best. Not a very good one by the standards of many. But this is a culmination of a decade of stalling and eventual writing. I hope you understand and feel the dedication for this work. So yes, making this appeal now, not just for the Fiction Awards, but for any other awards out there which you think this fits. Again, many thanks and God bless!
