@maxrgby it means nothing's, it just is.
Although I wouldn't be surprised if it had some sentiment value or some shit, or if it appears in the next cc book and sjm is like surprise bitches, it wasn't all that random after all

I've been debating about posting this for a while.

If they ban me from this platform, so be it. *takes deep breath*

Zlibrary is down. For those of you who don't know. zlibrary is the largest ebook library in the world, boasting copies of over 12 million books and millions upon millions of regular users. Anyone can access zlibrary and download books, for free, without charge, without waiting time, without needing to return them.

Legally speaking, this is piracy, as they're reproducing copyrighted materials without consent. On these grounds, the U.S. Department of Justice has seized the site and blocked access.

For millions of ordinary citizens, ranging from university students to voracious readers like myself, zlibrary has become a nearly essential resource. For poorer students who can't afford ludicrous textbook prices or quiet bookworms who can't buy physical books, zlibrary is a safe haven.

          Free zlibrary.

idk why im posting it here. this is going to reach 2 or 3 people, tops. i can't believe i'm writing this.

I can't believe I'm hitting the post button.

Friendly reminder that Annabeth doesn't know the dam joke.

altian_9

Yup. I get pissed off every time I read a fanfiction where a) annabeth mentions a dam joke, b) annabeth laughs at the dam joke, or c) annabeth says damn instead of dam and ppl say "dam" in the comments

@Annabeth_Aelin1682 Yup! Let's just kindly forget the fact that THE FUCKING THING RELEASES IN 2024 AHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Alternatively, instead of forgetting, we can draw out Celestial Bronze weapons and intimidate the shit out of the mortal director but ultimately do nothing.

*RANT ALERT*

Lack of diversity/inclusivity is no reason to hate on Sarah J Maas's works.

I've seen a lot of people criticize her books a lot. While I agree that her books do have a lot of flaws, diversity is not one of them.

For starters, let me remind you that SJM IS A FANTASY AUTHOR. SHE CREATES HER OWN WORLD. She does NOT have to conform to racial standards of our world; heck, she could make everybody have green skin and it'd be okay. Why? BECAUSE IT'S HER WORLD.

Second: A lot of the reasons you'll see people citing are honestly just bullshit.

The most common one by far is Nehemia's death to further Celaena's plot.
Now tell me, how in any way is this racially motivated. What happens if Nehemia was white? Well, she has to die anyway to spur Aelin into action. Would you still be screaming "RACIST"?

A few others I've seen include:

Lack of racial diversity in general (Again, it's her world, she doesn't need to have racial diversity. But if you really want to die on that hill, please read Crescent City.)
Homophobia due to lack of intimate scenes with same-sex characters

...ok, what? once again, how is this in any way homophobic? we have plenty of characters in her series that are gay/bi/lesbian, and SJM's relatively few sex scenes generally focus on the MAIN-main character, who is usually straight. I can already here people yelling "homophobic," but let's look at the statistics. Roughly 11% of people identify as lesbian or gay (and that's on the upper end of the spectrum. most estimates say around 5-6%), and SJM has had, what, 3 main characters? Adds up.

Cultural appropriation. This one I sort-of agree with; she does take a lot of elements of other cultures and incorporates them into her own world (many of her magical creatures and some festivals). However, if that counts as cultural appropriation...oh boy, where do I even start? The entire MCU, Percy Jackson, certain elements of Harry Potter, many Disney movies, etc, etc, etc...the list goes on.

@maxrgby everything you said is true, so good on ya for saying it pal

Alright guys. As a person living in the US, the overturning of Roe v. Wade has been everywhere on the media.

I'm usually not one to get myself involved in politics or movements.

BUT. The overturning of Roe v. Wade isn't about saving babies' lives. It's about controlling women and restricting their rights. When asked about fertility clinics, which dispose of thousands of embryos per year, a Texas Congressman said that they were fine BECAUSE THE ABORTION LAW ONLY APPLIED TO PREGNANT WOMEN.

This law isn't about saving lives. It's just about sexism. That's it.
