sup babes! long time no see....

in a burst of inspiration, i wrote almost an entire new chapter for y'all. i have like two more scenes to write, but it's 1am and i have class in the morning, so it should be done some time tomorrow or thursday. until then, here is a very special sneak peak!

He knew he didn’t deserve it in the first place. Alan hadn’t truly realized how badly she had taken what he thought of as mercy for them both. At least, not until she stumbled into the studio that one morning. Seeing her like that, the redness around her eyes, the sag in her shoulders like she carried something heavy, it was like nothing he had ever seen. He had watched his fellow pros go through breakups before, but it had never looked like that. Ilona had looked like a walking corpse, and it made bile burn the back of his throat, even as he thought about it now.

When she spoke to him, looked at him like he was nothing more than a stranger—it had nearly knocked the air from his lungs. There was no anger in her eyes, no fire, no accusation. Just emptiness. A hollow, aching void where warmth used to be.

omg heyyy <3 guess who started on the next chapter? that's right, it was me! finally. the GOOD news is, my spring break is next week, so i'll more than likely be churning this out faster than you can say Alona. i hope. until then, here's a little something to tide you over. i'm looking at you, @dontworryboutit97 :) see y'all soon!

"Then, as his legs began to buckle— there she was. Standing in the doorway of the jetway, ticket in hand, seconds away from disappearing. She looked more radiant than he had ever imagined. Her black dress clung to her figure, highlighting every curve and every earned muscle. He never thought someone could glow under fluorescent lighting, but there she was, shining brighter than the sun. "

hi besties! this next chapter is flying out of my brain. it's probably going to be a longer one, so here's a little sneak peek to tide you over until it's finished!
          -
When Ilona was a girl, she was always fascinated by science. She was one of those girls that watched every Grey’s Anatomy episode, that would stay up later than she was supposed to reading all about the conditions and causes. One of the cases she found most fascinating was about a mother who died just months after her son passed away, due to stress and grief-induced Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. Or as it’s most commonly referred to, a broken heart. She found cases like this fascinating, studied the in’s and out’s of the condition. She knew how rare it was, but grimly, she always thought to herself, “man, I hope this doesn’t happen to me.” What a romantic.

Now, what Ilona was experiencing was definitely not grief-induced Takotsubo cardiomyopathy. But my god, it sure was the closest she was ever going to get. At that moment, she honestly wasn’t sure how to go on.
