Dear readers, As Darkness Falls is getting a face lift. HOWEVER, due to submission guidelines for the Watty's, I cannot submit the new/updated parts of the beginning of the story until AFTER October 14th. So, if you want to read the updated story you can go to my profile on Inkitt. The name is civilwarlin. Or I'll have the new parts out of the 14th. 
          The new parts are not imperative to understand the ending of the book as the plot will stay the same. They are more updates to allow for character building, character growth, and overall poor grammar/spelling.

SURPRISE - MONDAY UPDATE!!!!
          
          So I entered As Darkness Falls into the Wattys 2024 book awards! EXCITEMENT!!! But that means I need to spend some serious time this week getting some spelling and grammar fixed and adding a few new chapters to help the flow and character building make more sense!
          
          As my treat to my readers - I decided to update early instead of holding onto this chapter until Friday. This also means that you'll get 2-3 brand new middle of the book chapters if you want to go back and read them! If not, no worries! The rest of the book will still make sense.

          Chapter 23 Song: Already Gone - Wild Rivers (it just fits the tone so well guys)

Going through a rewrite on the first few chapters. If you’ve already read them, you might see things pop up in later chapters that were already explained in the ones you read. This is because I’m taking some things out. 

No update tonight! Working on finishing touches for the chapter. Expect it tomorrow night.

          "So... staying quiet isn't exactly your specialty?" She turned to look at him, his breath fogging in the air. Her own was blocked by her mask.

          “The King has requested your presence,” Eric said.
          
          She forced her lips to form a smirk as her voice turned cold and dead. “And I get a whole welcoming party? Lucky me.” She forced her body to appear loose as she reeled her emotions in.
          
          “Don’t make this difficult for us, Miss Prevara.” She could’ve sworn she saw pity in Bronson’s eyes, though his own hand was resting on his sword.
          
          She gestured for them to lead the way. “Don’t touch me and we shouldn’t have any problems.”

          “I don’t know anything about you. You hardly know anything about me. Besides, you call me by my full name.” Her hand gestured between them. “I would consider us strangers.”
          
          The corner of his mouth quirked up. “Let me in, and I’ll tell you anything you wish to know, beautiful.”
