So, yesterday, I watched Guillermo de Toro's Frankenstein and it wasn't like a Gothic horror film, it was more of a Gothic tragic fairytale in my opinion.
It somehow stick with the some of the faithful of the original novel but more in de Toro's way. And of course, I did enjoy how The Creature was portrayed as a sympathetic person who is intelligent and possesses a romantic nature (Not like love romantic) while Victor is clearly not the victim, but the reason why everything went downhill because of his ego and inability to see his actions has consequences.
Through the ending was bittersweet, it was better than way. The Creature will able to live and find his own identity which it might take some time, I think he will find his happiness.
Honestly, great Gothic films of this year, Frankenstein and Dracula: A Love Tale.
