          I'm posting this here because I can't post it on my social media, but I hope this message reaches whoever needs to hear it. Our opinions should be shaped by facts, empathy, and independent thinking not by algorithms or outrage.
          
          Watching students, women, and ordinary citizens who came to raise their voices being met with tear gas, baton charges, and force instead of dialogue is deeply disturbing. Reports and footage from today's protest have shown injuries and violent confrontations as police dispersed crowds. If peaceful protesters including young people and women are met with violence rather than being heard, it raises painful questions about the health of our democracy. 
          
          A democracy should never FEAR its own people; it should listen to them. Today will be remembered by many as a dark day, not because people protested, but because the response to those protests has left so many feelings that their voices were met with force instead of compassion.
