i want to address the ongoing situation involving @etclipse, an applyfic writer here on wattpad who has recently been accused of using ai and plagiarizing other writers' work, among other users. these allegations are not baseless, there is documented proof, including screenshots of statements that came directly from her, where she admits to using ai and expresses indifference toward the harm it causes to both the environment and the writing community.
          
          multiple users have attempted to seek clarification and accountability, only to be insulted and eventually blocked by her (including myself). despite this, @etclipse continues to show no indication of stopping and has since deleted the thread on her profile that raised questions about her allegations.
          
          screenshots and documentation are currently being compiled and will be added to the shared document linked below for full transparency. in the meantime, i strongly encourage anyone who is concerned to report @eclipse's account through wattpad's official reporting system, attaching evidence where possible. this is the proper way to address ai use and plagiarism on this platform.

ok this might be a non-issue but i really think we should start disqualifying people who use ai or straight up plagiarize other ppl's forms in applyfics bcs some of yall are getting way too comfortable with it... i just saw someone reuse another person's gform format and someone else literally rewrote another oc word for word. like we've seriously gone past respecting fellow writers just to get accepted and i fear we have completely lost the plot

you can tell how good of a writer someone is by the way they write their oc’s. because why am i scrolling through apply fic submissions and finding a fully fleshed-out character who isn’t just black and white. they’re someone flawed, complicated, but in a way that feels real, that makes me actually connect with their inner struggles?
          
          and then on top of that, they’ve got this wild, outlandish background that shouldn’t make sense in real life, but somehow it works, and actually adds to their depth and development? it makes me want to get on my knees and pray to every storytelling god that the applyfic writer’s got the juice to do that masterpiece of a character justice.
