My life had always been monotonous. I used to watch the same sunrise, drink the same black coffee, walk down the same street, catch the same train at the same station, go to the same job, every single day. And I was content, or so could be said.
          That was a day ago.
It was a Monday, and I was in no mood for interactions.... until there was a soft "excuse me" and she alighted the train. She was all over the place, black boots and brown hair, her manicured fingers wrapping around one of the handles, smiling at an old man as she adjusted her handbag on her shoulders. She smelt of vanilla and something richer, something nuttier.
I had never seen her before, and perhaps the universe should have let it remain that way, because from then on, life wasn't so monotonous anymore.
I found myself looking forward to those train journeys to work and back.
8:30 am train out, 5:30 pm train in. She was punctual.
It was funny how she always got in the same booth, and how it was always so crowded she had to squeeze in and hold the handrails. On good days, when she did get a seat, she would always stand up when she saw someone who was more in need of it.
Her eyes were brown, her lips were always a glossy shade of something in-between pink and chocolate, she wore five rings in total, none on the finger that mattered. That was all I needed to know.
I never said hi or anything, I just observed. On days where I thought she would miss the train, she would surprise me, and I found myself smiling as I caught her skidding towards the rapidly closing doors, hot coffee in hand, the panicked expression when she thought the doors were going to close, and the relief afterward, when she would manage to stick her hand through the door and catch the train.
There was just something about her that made living....better. Or rather, not so monotonous.
Did I want her name? Desperately.
Would I ask for it? Never.

           WHO WANTS A PART 2?????

While I am at it, I was also wondering whether I should redraft the whole of Kshatrani and republish it, the original gist remains the same I just change a few things up a bit (let me know what you think). This won't be happening in the near future, probably in about 6 months or so, so I'll ask you for feedback before I redraft :)
          Thanks.

@anaemic_ameoba for me, I'll be fine, it'll be fun to reread everything once it already republish
