Happy New Year, everyone!
Well… it’s about that time. Happy New Year! I genuinely can’t believe how fast this year flew by. Time has a way of doing that. One minute you’re settling in, the next it’s waving goodbye.
I hope this past year treated you well.
God has blessed me with another year, another stretch of life to experience with friends, family, and all the difficult moments in between. He’s watched over me through some difficult seasons, and my prayer is that He does the same for each of you in the year ahead. I also pray that, at some point, you’d consider giving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ a real chance.
And even if you’re not there yet, I hope this next year is one where you choose to grow.
Earlier today, I remembered a quote my dad once told me. I don’t know who originally said it, but it goes like this:
“In 20 years, if you look back at yourself and see that you’re the same person, you’ve wasted 20 years of your life.”
I love this quote. It forces the question: how much time do we spend doing things that don’t actually develop us, mature us, or move us forward?
If you’re not making intentional moves to grow, whether that’s reading, training your body, practicing a skill, learning an instrument, you’re letting time slip through your fingers. Wasted. Our knowledge and wisdom should grow as we grow. If they don’t, we’re moving backwards.
I think of life like an escalator. You’re either moving upward towards a better version of yourself, or you’re being carried back toward who you used to be.
The direction you choose is up to you.
As for me, I’m choosing to move forward. Choosing to grow, to mature, and to become the man God created me to be. I’ll be praying for each of you this year, that you take steps, big or small, toward becoming the person you were created to be.
Happy 2026, everyone. God bless.
