To all my talented black writers: I know by now drug dealer does this, strippers get this.. and the brand name clothes got you fleeking and slaying etc. I get it. Take your talent and put it into writing positive stuff that goes on in the black community highlight the wrongdoings and put ur perspective on what you think should happen in order for all this police brutality to END. Yes. We all enjoy a good 'love story' but don't live in mental shackles that all black folks are good for is selling drugs, buying the hottest clothes and getting mad hoes. Come on people. I'm honestly tired seeing books that have so many votes and nothing about it is uplifting or encouraging us to be better, TO DO better. With that being said kudos to the ones that do shed light on today's events. #blacklivesmatter.

Dark skin girls/women do get bully for the colour of their skin its a known fact. When you do decide to write about it doa don't write it in a way that when she gets attention from a boy/man she magically becomes confident and see herself worthy of love. Let her grow to love herself first, to see her dark skin as not a curse but a blessing, let her grow and believe deep within she is somebody whether a man finds her beautiful or not.
