Really appreciate seeing your voice on here. I’m working on a story that touches on some Indigenous themes. My grandfather was part Native, but he hid that after coming back from World War II to marry into a wealthy white family. That silence shaped a lot in my life, and this story is my way of trying to explore that—not to claim an identity that isn’t mine (I’m very white by every other measure).
I noticed you write in a totally different style and genre, so no pressure at all. I just want to make sure I didn’t write anything unintentionally offensive, and I’m trying to ask the right people instead of assuming.
