Apologies again that it has taken me soooo long to finish it, but the next chapter of 'The Underbelly' by Angela Goldsmith called 'A Spectre in Waiting' is finally finished.
Here is a short extract from this chapter
As Jo's car pulled into the curb next to the Vacation Inn, Harry peered out of the window at what appeared to be a rather insipid looking, beige box with a bright orange sign over the doorway. He quickly discerned that the Vacation Inn was not an unpleasant looking establishment, a little basic in design perhaps, but this no-frills establishment seemed functional enough, at least for a short stay. Harry conceded that he had, after all, urged Jo to drop him off somewhere fairly inexpensive, and as he considered himself to be currently unemployed, despite Jo's assertions to the contrary, for the time being the Vacation Inn would suit his needs. He rued the fact that he had little in the way of savings. He knew he could get by for a time on meagre amounts, but he was becoming increasingly worried that dwindling funds may soon become an acute issue. At present though, he decided that the Vacation Inn would prove accommodating enough. Also on the positive side they welcomed dogs, (at an extra charge,) but at least he did not have to worry about finding somewhere to kennel Precious. He had briefly thought of leaving her at Battersea dogs home, but he did not believe he could be so cruel as to just abandon her after all the time they had spent together.
During the short journey to this place Harry had considered disappearing into the wilderness of obscurity again. He had plotted and pondered whether to wait for Jo to leave him here on the threshold and then, when alone, to move on to another, similar hostel in a different locale, one where he could not be easily discovered.
