hi! i know i'm not really active on this acc anymore, but i have been horrified and disgusted by the murders george floyd, ahmaud arbery, breonna taylor, etc. and i feel the need to say a little about it. i apologize if this is messy & all over the place. it has been difficult to fully articulate my thoughts in this chaotic time.
it is absolutely unacceptable that the people who are supposed to save us are murdering innocent african-americans instead. the fact that derek chauvin has only been charged with third-degree murder is unbelievable.
i understand that though i am not very active on wattpad and am not african-american, i can still play a part in contributing to raising awareness on the horrific murders of these innocent men and women. if you are looking for specific ways you can help, i have linked a website that should be helpful, as well as a few numbers you can text and petitions you can sign.
my prayers go out to the african-american community. i pray for change, for progress, for justice, for the chains on the oppressed to finally break. i cannot even begin to imagine what you all have experienced. in this time, i too i am ashamed to call america my home. to those participating in protests, please please stay safe. and as a fellow poc, i stand along with you.
