“Please,” the girl begged the boy across the table from her. “You don’t have to do this.”
His eyes, once warm with the light of laughter, were cold as he glared at his sister. “I’m sorry. But this is what I have to do.”
She shook her head, despair taking over. Their parents watched silently. They couldn’t do anything, not against the game.
The sister tried once more. “Don’t do it!” She begged, tears in her eyes. “I’m your sister!”
“I have no sister.” Her brother said softly. The sister’s eyes widened as her fears became true, seeing the card he laid down. A draw four.
“Uno.” He says, barely more than a whisper.
