            ( her smile dropped slightly, however—- though moreso at the lack of toppings on peter's cake and not getting the chance to decorate it yet before he returned. )

[  truth be told, mj wasn’t sure how she did it, either.  all she knew was that if she wanted to find something out, there’d have to be a way.  and peter had a very telling face / and / tone when he lied.  ]  okay, okay, i won’t.  let me think.
