I write when I'm bored, inspired, or when my mind won't shut up at 2 a.m. Most of my stories are born from random daydreams and night-long scenarios that somehow turn into entire worlds.
Romance-especially the slow-burn, emotionally messy kind-is my favorite thing to write.
