3) I cared more about the side characters than the main couple. It has already happened to KOW, where i was interested in Kai (big mistake). Now I'm intrigued with Ale and Dom story (second chance romance is at least a different trope). Bot I'm not hopeful anymore. I gave 2 stars and not 1 because i'm a fan of the author (and for the good overall writing style and the sex scene. I LOVED twisted hate and it's one of my "palate cleanser" books (i read it to rid myself from a bad taste left by a bad story): it had a plot, character development, realationship build up, believable reasons that explained the MC's actions and the sex scene were so good. I will continue to read the king of sin series because i have a morsel of hope for the future plotlines (Sloane as an ice queen better not be disappointing)

          	4) please be free to explain me why there are some many good reviews, I want to enjoy it too.

2) I DIDN'T FEEL ANY PASSION BETWEEN THEM. no build up, no angst, no development. Up until 130 pages, Kai was distancing himself from Isabella because he believed she was dangerous and so much different from anyone he ever met (spoilers she was only a bartender and she liked going to rave in Brooklin, that was waht made her so quirky and not like other girls). THEN SUDDENLY HE WAS LIKE "don't go to ohter men to satisfy your needs because you're now MINE". Ew. Why. Don't talk to me. Maybe it's a me problema, but the club scene was so out of the blue I got whiplash. Every obstacles of their realtionship was so self-imposed. YOU ARE 32 AND YOU STILL LISTEN TO YOUR MOM FOR WHO YOU CAN DATE??!!?! Kai, you are not the crown prince of Eldorra so calm down. If it was a culture difference, I could have understood better the "forbidden romance" bit. But it was not: it was only because Isabella was apparently from a low class family. The worst part was that Kai excused his mother for being disrespectful towards Isabella too easily. He was like "yeah we are different, I translate books from english to latin and you raced but in reality you're rich so we are all fine babe I accept you".
Also, for me, it was not believable all the shenanigans with the scandal of their realtionship: I swear, nobody cares.

First time ranting about a book, but I need to get something off my chest. I've just finished King of Pride, and it was a 2/5 ☆ at best. Be aware of spoilers

          1) It was so BORING (not in the cute and fun way): Kai was not the introverted MMC that the author promised us to be. He was just "meh". He talked too much and said too little to be identifeid as the mysterious character that gets you wondering what is goin on in his head. His charisma was politeness but, jn my opinion, it fell flat. He was different from Dante, Alex and Christian only because he said "thank you". Safe to say, I didn't like him one bit.
Isabella was a bit better, her character was a little more multifaceted but only because she showed us some lf her insecurities with her family. BUT COME ON, why was she a heiress?? what was the reason??? it would have been so much better for the character development to let her be a normal person with normal struggles. But NO, a CEO like Kai doesn't deserve a paesant. EW
But babes, the worst was the plot.... insignificant and predictable and stale and all the other adjectives that could describe watching paint dry. 330 pages of nothing. Ana delivered some good sex scenes (they were the only reasons I gave the book 2 stars) but nothing more. The struggle were: FMC was an employee and MMC was the employer, FMC was poor and MMC was like the fucking king (as I said, she was not poor but a rich girl that liked to fake being a normal person in order tl finde herself) and MMC's mother that didn't approve his son's relationship with a commoner.
That's it. I don't even considered to be a problem the all Kai's reputation nonsense that was used as a way to make readers believe they wers reading a FORBIDDEN ROMANCE: nothing was forbidden, the main characters were only bored rich people
