            the little girl tensed up and ripped her hand away,  she scooted back and sniffled , hugging her knees as she coughed.

            Kasper looked upon her with a softened expression and gently took her hand to comfort her. It was deathly cold but still unbelievably calming. “It’s okay. Whenever you’re ready to talk, just let me know.”

          Adam was guarding him and paying most of his attention on the news that was playing softly on the radio. He turned to the other and shrugged. “Who knows. If it were my guess, maybe a good while. But I’m not the one who makes that decision. I’m just watching after you.”
