Hey y’all! It’s been ages—over 8 years actually—since I was last here! I had just wrapped up all my books, taken some of them down, and published a few others. A lot has changed, and many of the folks I connected with back then might not even be on here anymore. I think I was 19 when I left, and now there’s a whole new generation on Wattpad. But hey, I had a little stalk around, and spotted a few OGs still holding it down.
I know the ship has probably sailed when it comes to reconnecting with the first generation of readers who followed me back in the day—especially for books like Big Girls Don’t Cry. But, on the off chance that any of you are still here (or maybe some new readers stumble across this): I’ve been feeling super nostalgic, and it’s got me wanting to write again. Maybe one last time..
Since leaving, life’s been a journey! I finished school, earned some degrees, and climbed the corporate ladder. I also had the opportunity to work as a freelance editor for some incredible authors, including the son of one of Nigeria's most renowned playwrights and theatre directors. Beyond my wildest dreams really!
But through it all, Wattpad has always held a special place in my heart. Every time I’m online, it still feels like ‘home.’ There’s something about this community of readers and writers that’s just unmatched. I even went back to reread some of the OG books by my favorite authors, and they still hold up. Honestly, if Netflix had been around back then, a lot of those stories would’ve been top-rated drama series by now.
So…before I turn 30, I’d like to write again one last time in 2025. I’m also thinking about revisiting some of my old books. If you have a favorite, let me know—I’d love to hear from you!
