An hour worth of writing all put into the next chapter. I may begin working on a second story that will shine a bit more of light on Gwyn's past.

The forest was silent and still as Frethya walked through it, the towering trees shedding half-shadows across the ground. Her light footsteps and her position downwind would almost guarantee that she would not be seen, not until she wished to be, at least. The soft, springy earth was covered in needles from the pines that surrounded her. Though Frethya did not fear the being that she expected to meet, caution was always her priority. As a result of this, she made sure to cling to the darkest of the shadows, covered by their concealing stretches. A clearing quickly widened as she moved along, her final destination. She stopped, placing herself beside the trunk of a large maple. The clearing was a kilometre in radius, the source of its creation was not evident. Perhaps some change in acidity had rendered the ground toxic, Frethya did not know. Whatever its cause, the clearing would serve as the perfect arena for the battle. The noonday sun scorched its centre, but the edges were hidden in shadow. The only other construct of note was a large boulder formation that stood 400m (1312.34ft) away from her. It stretched a width of 20m (65.6168ft) at its widest, standing to a maximum height of 20m (65.6168ft) at its tallest of three spires. After casting a single glance over it, Frethya noted its position and potential strategic aid. Her long, white hair drifted down her back and her bright blue eyes were piercing as she examined the clearing. The footing was even, prime for swordplay, and the trees did not seem to have many far-reaching roots. Frethya was pleased with the situation.

For all its appearances, the object was not actually solid. It was an illusion born of Frethya’s manipulation and sustained through her energy. Though magic was used in order for her to touch and control the threads, the illusion itself was not made of mana. The threads existed, yet the actual image was insubstantial as it lacked the density and form of true objects. It was a tool, a weapon that Frethya could alter in order to have it surround any of the senses. The threads could be weaved in whichever way she most desired.

Once Frethya finished her rapid run, she would stop and plant her feet at shoulder width in a stable, defensive position. Here, she would wait to see what was in store. Lilith had yet to appear, yet Frethya was sure whatever was about to transpire would be interesting. It might aid in sating her bloodlust for a time, at least.

F1 Illusion (0): Frethya has begunt o generate a spherical object with the appearance and colour of a rock. It stands at a distance of 200m from Lilith, and is 5.08cm (2in) in diameter.

Frethya’s motion, though rapid, was subconscious enough for her to begin to focus on her own attacks, as opposed to her current focus on defense. As she could not yet see Lilith, she would have to begin to plan her attacks based off of her past success and experiences. If the creature that she could scent and hear made itself visible to her, she then perhaps change her intentions. As it was, Frethya began to reach for the minute strings of energy and matter she could feel circling around her. Each one was less than microscopic, a glimmering thread that she could not see, but feel. They shone in her minds eye as though etched in silver, delicate and whirling to form and unform the world. Each object that she could see around her was made of trillions of threads, dense and solid, structured in a manner Frethya could never hope to imitate. She tested them with the power she held, pressing gently. Slowly, she began to weave.

A pattern appeared before her, intrinsic as the needles of a master seamstress. Her body immediately knew what was required in order to form what she wished. The individual strands would begin to line up next to each other, condensing into a form that began to be visible. Frethya made sure to form them in a pattern that would be the same colour as the ground. A rough sphere-shaped object began to create itself 200m from where Lilith stood, sustained by the weaving that Frethya performed easiy as she moved [F1]. At a diameter of 5.08cm (2in), it was the same dusty brown colour as the ground on which it lay, growing more substantial by the second. As a result of its colour and shape, the object would likely not be noticed unless someone was looking for it. Frethya made sure not to cast her eyes in its direction. Such a mistake might instantly tip off her opponent as to its location and origin.

Lilith’s scent and the word she muttered were enough to alert Frethya to her prescence, especially at so close a range. In the instant that she recognized Lilith’s proximity, Frethya was spurred into action. As Lilith was situated at the opposite end of the forest, Frethya was already facing the direction that she originated from. As such, it was simple for her to back up, giving herself room to maneuver. Accelerating in half a second, Frethya began to move backwards at a speed of 100m/s (223.694mph). She would continue to move until she reached a total distance of 500m from where Lilith stood, ensuring she would have time to react to Lilith’s attacks should she launch them. On account of the forest, Frethya could not yet see her opponent, the same factors making it unlikely that Lilith would be able to see her as well. In fact, it was altogether improbable that Lilith had noticed Frethya’s presence as a result of her downwind position, nearly silent footsteps and the shadow cover she found herself in. As she moved, she made sure to maintain these factors so that she would not be detected, assuming Lilith hadn’t already pinpointed her position.

As Lilith had appeared at a distance of 27.432m (30yards) away from where she was, Frethya needed to move only 472.568m (516.808yards) to obtain her desired distance. As a result, it would take her approximately 5.2 seconds to move to a total of 500m from where Lilith stood. Each step of her foot was precise, her analytical mind plotting almost instantly the movements she would have to take to ensure no dust was stirred from the ground, and that her steps were not audible. Landing lightly on her toes with and flexing her claves with each press of her legs allowed her to distribute her weight evenly and gently, resulting in minimal vibrations that could potentially travel through the ground to where Lilith stood.

Sorry I haven't been active recently. I had to go to the doctors and it wasn't a good trip.
I've been swamped with homework and exams recently but they're mostly over now. I've been working on another fan fiction as well as my current one.

Anyway I hope some of my eager followers (like 3) see this and understand.
