Ok I need ur opinion on this and it may seem controversial! So, I am a white person and I have a lot of muse for writing a poc character in some of my fics like teen wolf, obx, etc. is this offensive to poc to be white and write a poc character? I feel like it’s crossing a line but I also feel like it’s not that deep? Honest opinions only!!

@where_the_fun_begins thank you for your honesty! I totally agree about the misinformation part bc I see a lot of hate on white authors writing for poc characters but majority of it is about specifics that are incorrect. If I wrote a poc character, I’d def do lots of research!

@natsvoid- I'm aArab and Muslim, so I feel like I have some say so here. :) It's not offensive! It's only offensive if the portrayal is incorrect. For example, if you write a Muslim character and they're accurate (aka they don't eat pork, they don't date, and they pray 5 times a day) while also not turning them into a stereotype, then that's great! It's always wonderful when people who aren't part of a minority write about minority cultures and stuff. The problem comes when the minority characters are written incorrectly as the result of misinformation or lazy writing. Example: giving a Muslim girl a boyfriend or portraying an Arab man as a t*rrorist.
