Si Maria ay isang dalagang lumaki sa probinsya, wala na ang kanyang ama kaya ang ina niya ang sumalo sa lahat ng responsibilidad ng kanilang pamilya. Gusto niyang magtrabaho at makatulong sa kaniyang ina ngunit elementarya lang ang tinapos niya. Hanggang sa may inalok na trabaho ang kaibigan niya at niyayaya siyang sumama papuntang maynila dahil may agency daw na naghahanap ng maraming kasambahay, naengganyo siya dahil kahit elementarya lang daw ang tinapos ay puwede.
          
          Sumama siya sa kaibigan upang puntahan ang sinasabi nitong agency na may malaking kita ngunit pagdating nila sa maynila, dito niya madidiskubre na hindi pagiging isang kasambahay ang pinasok niyang trabaho at sa puntong ito magsisimula ang malaking bangungot na babago sa buhay ni Maria.
