i would also like to say (since i've been logged off for a while) that i am a jewish person, who writes jewish characters and is mourning the jewish individuals who were killed and taken hostage on october 7th. that being said, the attack that the israeli government is launching on innocent civilians is not okay, a humanitarian crisis and, by definition, a war crime. for my fellow jews, this is not in the torah and these are not the teachings—so support of what the israeli government (especially with how they have been hiding behind the jewish people in order to do this) is committing right now and has historically done, i do not agree with and i urge you to think critically about it, if you haven't already. for my non-jews, i urge you to check in on your jewish friends and mutuals and your palestinian friends and mutuals—both parties are suffering at the hands of organizations that use their people to shield their actions. please take action to support the palestinian people, who are currently being massacred and displaced—this can be through signing petitions, educating those around you, donating (if you can), going to protests or supporting sit ins. silence is complacency. i urge you to consider it, even if it's small.
for my us citizens, i urge you to consider downloading the 5 calls app to urge your local and state officials to take action against what is happening and president biden's decision.
for my non-us citizens, i urge you to use your voice in the ways that you can.
it might seem like you're just one person, but a whole chorus of people, at the end of the day, is a collection of individuals.
