Hi everyone! It’s your author, Hayden, here. Can you believe that "The Secret of the Throne" has finally come to an end? I still can’t wrap my head around it. However, as I mentioned in the last chapter, while the journey of the first book has concluded, we have not yet reached our final destination.
There’s a reason why I did not continue the story further in the same book. "The Secret of the Throne" is my first story, and I had planned the entire plot beforehand. However, I took long breaks between chapters and lost some momentum. When I wrote the first chapter, I intended to keep writing continuously, even during my university semesters. As I enter second year, it's difficult to think about anything other than lectures and assignments. Sometimes, I even forgot the personalities of the characters I planned to write about.
I hate dragging things out for too long and leaving them unfinished and feel like I needed to finish "The Secret of the Throne" quickly to attain closure. But the world I created in my mind is too vast to be contained in just a few chapters. I want to explore more of Adrianna’s amazing friendships and deeper relationships with her family. So, I set myself a target of 40 chapters for the first part of the duology.
In the second part, I will delve deeper into these relationships with a thrilling surprise plot. It's limiting to portray Adrianna as an independent character while she is a high school student. I want to stay grounded in reality and not stray too far. Fortunately, I will have a bit more free time over the next four months, and I hope to complete my second book without losing momentum. So, stay tuned for that!
P.S. Feel free to share any scenarios you would like to see in the second part of the story in the comment section below. Here’s a little hint: the second part will include a 2-3 year time skip, starting with Adrianna as a university student. And share with me what your overall thought about “The Secret of the Throne” is?
