          -------

"Uhm. . ." Adarsh hesitated for a second, then, quieter- "I really like Jiya."

The words landed clean. With out any buildup or layerings to execute it smoothly.

Yashvi blinked once. "Okay?" she said.

Adarsh exhaled softly, he swallowed, "Ussey pata hai?" he asked, and this time there was something else beneath the question.

Yashvi shrugged, her loose shirt shifting with the motion, making it seem larger than it was. "Nahi. I mean. . .lagta toh nahi hai."

"Okay," he nodded to himself, like he was aligning something internally.

          There was a pause.

Then- "Toh let's date." Adarsh had said the most ridiculous thing Yashvi had ever heard.

Yet they made a deal. A fake relationship. Clear rules. No feelings. But somewhere between almost-touching hands, shared silences, and things left unsaid- the lines blurred.

Because pretending is easy- Until it starts feeling real.

Hey,

I hope you’re having a cozy day, filled with books that feel like old friends.

I’m really sorry to slide into your space like this—I just came across your profile and noticed you enjoy emotional, character-driven stories. My friend has recently started sharing a story that’s really close to her heart, and I thought you might love it too.

It’s called In the Wake of Us.

          She’s never known love.
          He’s still haunted by it.
Neither of them saw the storm coming.

Maira believes she’s not meant to be loved.
Arham once was—and it broke him.
Now they’re bound by a marriage neither wanted, caught in a silence thick with pain and unspoken truths.

It’s a slow-burn, emotional read about grief, love, and the quiet ways people find their way back to themselves—and to each other. Not the kind of love that fixes everything… but the kind that changes you.

If that sounds like something you’d enjoy, it would mean a lot if you gave it a chance. My friend would be truly grateful for your support!

And if you ever feel like sharing your thoughts, she would love to hear them—only if you’re comfortable, of course.

Thank you so much for your time. It means more than you know.
