@sitarayell0w The couples are still the same, and even the tropes remain same as before (I've just added a few more in Yashika's case).
As for why I rewrote it... maybe because I wasn't completely satisfied with the previous version. I wanted a more engaging start to the book. When I went back and reread the earlier chapters after returning from the break, they felt very different from the later ones and I knew I could improve the beginning.
Not that I'm embarrassed of the older version. I'm not. Not a tiny bit. It was the first book I ever wrote and it will always be very close to my heart. But I did feel that both the readers and characters deserved a better start.
The purpose of rewriting was to improve how the story begins. Only the start of this version differs significantly. As the story progresses, it will begin to resonate and look similar with The Rivalry Rewritten.
Another reason could be fixing plot holes. I know you all might not have noticed them, but there were a few and rewriting was the best way to address them.
And don't worry, it didn't sound rude to me. If anything, it showed how attached you are to The Rivalry Rewritten, and I'm truly grateful for that love. Thank you<3
You can decide whether you want to stay with the previous version or give the new one a try. As the author, I'll respect whatever choice you make.
