Taylor Hartley

I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and a minor in Creative Writing. Inspired largely by Madeline L'Engle and Tamora Pierce, I started writing stories when I was eight years old and never looked back. I've only ever wanted two things: to bring new characters to life and to share my love of words with the world. That led me to the classroom, where I teach English to high school students-and hope I leave a lasting impression.

When I'm not reading, writing, or teaching, I lose myself in the variety of characters available on Netflix, spend a decent amount of time on the rowing machine, and drink Chai tea lattes like they're water. I love weekly Sunday night dinners with my dad, crisp fall afternoons, and long runs on scenic greenways. An eternal lover of the em dash and the Oxford comma, I live in Charlotte, North Carolina with my partner Aaron, who also teaches English. I write in honor of my mother, whose fierce spirit ignites my imagination and brightens my world every day.

THE SECRET OF MCCLEACH MANOR is my first novel (on Wattpad). It's a light horror/paranormal adventure about a dysfunctional family headed for true disaster.
