          She screamed, thrashed, her small fists pounding against his rock-hard chest, fingers clawing at his collar in a frantic plea of release. He ignored every blow, every swallowed sob, marching murderously along the hallway without any hesitation.
          
          The door of his room, their room, flew open with a vicious kick. He slammed it shut behind them with another brutal thrust of his leg— the deafening thud echoing like a coffin lid sealing shut. She flinched hard, a broken whimper escaping her lips. He carried her straight to the bathroom, straight into the massive shower area. The water was already running with full force, cold and icy.
