Hi! Okay, so I'm glad I came across your profile. Im sorry if I don't make sense, I suck at talking. I am currently learning ASL as well. Ive admired ASL. No one I know is Deaf or hard of hearing minus the fact that my mom can't hear out of her left ear. She can hear just fine, if you're just on her right side. So, I want to learn ASL, but I don't want to forget it. Would it be weird if I signed? I've gotten rude comments about it, because I'm not Deaf or Hard of hearing. Does it matter though? You seem cool though, as I read your bio I got all excited. You're Mormon and are learning ASL. So much in common, sort of in a way. I'm sorry if I come off rude or anything. I'm  Mormon as well.

            yeah hearing people tend to be wary of anything "disabled" related because they don't get it so it can be confusing to them.
            
            naw, tell them about interpreters and inform them that deaf people actually appricaite it when hearing people put in an effort to communicate with them.
            
            sucks about your wavery hearing levels! I hope you find out the cause!! 
            
            that's fine if you cant relate, you don't have to relate to be valid or use sign language. like I said, just don't mock the language or refuse deaf people to use it.

@awesomedeafgal, it was hearing people who said those things, they think it's weird for a hearing person to be doing ASL. Although, as weird as it may be but I feel like my hearing is slipping. Since I was little I would always have ear infections and ear aches. Getting out of school due to pain. I can hear okay at times but other times I find it hard, my mom went through this in a way. I've read stories about it. I can't say I relate. I have no place too. I never want to mock deaf people or have them think so. Once I learn ASL, I will be working at the local Association for the Deaf. I want to be in the Deaf community and help in a way. Teach others the language.

Hey, sorry to be a bother, but I read your bio--along with your username--and I was thinking if you could read my story "One Day We'll Be Safe". It's based on a character whose deaf, and well, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what I did wrong or what I could add to make it more realistic. @redvelvetrocker aww thank you! I really appreciate that! I'm learned ASL (and I love in North America so probably not,) but maybe after I learn asl I might learn some (fingerspelling eat least) but who knows! Thats awesome that he can use sign language to help him! that's fine, I forget the different names of sign too!
