Okay so quick thing: I was talking with my friends at school at one point and they know I'm trans. One of them asks me, "So wait, what's your boy name?" I was sorta confused so I just said Axel. Y'know my preferred name. Same girl asks what my girl name is. I say my dead-name. This girl goes on to ask everyone what their boy and girl name is. My gender questioning friend says that wanna try Daniel instead of their preferred name now based on how I understood. Then my cisgender friend goes, "Oh, my boy name is Jack." I can tell she came up with it on the spot. So basically my understanding of this girl that asked the questions is that she thinks everyone has a boy and girl name, like gender bent and shit. Not everyone does. The deal with trans people is different; they actually identify as that name and would like for you to call them that. I was just uncomfortable in that situation. I wanted to rant. Yes, I do understand that she may have just been confused but that don't mean it still ain't hurt.
