a woman born from the golden age of egypt ( the old kingdom ). born around 2650 BCE she was chosen from high ranking - families to become a priestess under the goddess isis. though, she never was a priestess for long, she was a mere chantress, singing, playing music for festivities and funerals. at the end of a festivity, under the stars and moon, she was attacked by what many thought to be a cult of shesmu. shesmu was a bloodthristy and vindictive god, the great slaughterer of gods, and he who dismembers bodies. she was to be sacrificed to the great god, yet instead, she had gained favor with the goddess isis, so the two came to an agreement. from then on, she became a vampire. an immortal being with abilities thanks to the great goddess isis and a blood drinker thanks to shesmu. since then she has changed her name many times, but currently, she is better known as layla hassan.
