@babycookie98 Please do. No amount of reading fanfics is a viable substitute for reading the actual book. People's fanfics are just their biased interpretations of the author's characters to push their personal agenda. The book is the only valuable source of information since it was directly written by the author who created and written those characters herself.

@babycookie98 I think that was a writing hiccup from the author. As much as I respect MXTX as an author for writing richly-detailed worlds and three-dimensional characters, even I find flaws in her writing. Jiang Yanli's death was rushed and poorly-written because the author was in a hurry to kill her off and escalate the conflicts between Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng.

@babycookie98 Say it like what? As for coping mechanism, if you mean as in she could find solace in the fact that she was not the only one abused by her mother, then I agree. All 3 of the children were physically and verbally abused by their mother. So she sought comfort in her brothers knowing they were suffering like she was.
