Now then, avoiding her put my abilities to the test. I could pretend she wasn't there and never turn to look at her. I could pretend I wasn't interested. But the truth was, I was still attuned to every breath she took. 

I couldn't look at her with my own eyes, so I observed her through the eyes of others. The vast majority of my thoughts revolved around her, as if she were the center of gravity in my mind.
