It's amazing where stories bring you when you hand them the full reins. Windtalker ended up in some never before expected places, which truthfully, I had resisted. Now, Caleb has control and I am both excited yet scared of where he will bring me. What started out as a short passage of Caleb's antics and a germ of an idea for #justwriteit, a short story of about 5,000 words, may now hit 15,000 or more. I am now very glad I started it, and even more so now that I want to see it to its conclusion.

Camp Nanowrimo has officially started. I will be revisiting and attempting to complete the novella that Windtalker has become. Wish me luck!

In addition, my brain has teased me about 2 more stories which I hope to share in the near future - May.

After a long hiatus from story writing - still very much engaged in other forms of creative writing, I'm happy to complete this little bugger.

Odd that some stories take on it's own life, to the point where I had to write every bit of this story in darkness. From a 200 word outline to the nightly revisions, the story demanded I worked on it in a dark room, just me and my laptop.

So in a way, I am glad to be rid of it for I can't imagine that to be healthy for me.

I hope you enjoy The Streetlight.

Apologies to friends and followers for the lack of updates on Windtalker. I would to imagine that I'm somewhat of an organic writer - non-GMO, free range, pesticide-free. I kid. But my writing is quite unpredictable. Caleb had a really odd scene and until that could parse in my head for its meaning and ramifications, I was not comfortable dealing with the rest of the story.

Then life intervened. As it always.

I intend to retackle Windtalker during Camp Nanowrimo in April. So in about less than a week, Windtalker will be talking to the wind again.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

And before then, I'm just about finishing up something that has been another odd experience for me. Never did I imagine what savage joy it was to write in the dark.
