Every whisper of movement in the darkness made her heart race, but she pressed on, determined to unearth the killer.
          
          Then, one night, as she fled through a desolate building, her pursuer close behind, she darted into an elevator. The doors slid shut, and she caught her breath, thinking she was safe for a moment. But when she looked up, she realized she wasn't alone-he was there, standing across from her in the dimly lit space, his gaze fixed on her with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine.
