Barbara E. Hunt writes mostly poetry (post-covid) and has poems published around the world every year in journals, magazines and anthologies. In the past her work has appeared on CBC Radio One, in The Globe and Mail and Homemakers Magazine. She has placed in contests and was selected for a Diaspora Dialogues poetry mentorship in the City of Toronto (2009), which led to the release of The Patternmaker's Crumpled Plan (Piquant Press) in 2011. Since she's dabbled in collaging for several years and always has some creative reno project on the go, her new poetry/colouring book, Devotions (Piquant Press, 2017) combines many of her passions. Her 2025 climate change collection, Rowing Across the North Atlantic received praise and the newest, What Is Is (a book of tiny poems) has spun off a series of short video readings on YouTube @barbarahunt9477.

She has many connections to communities of writers through The Writers' Community of Durham Region (past-president), the former Ontario Writers' Conference (Chair), The Ontario Poetry Society and the League of Canadian Poets (member).
