            Clint hugged her back. "I promise." He said, resting his chin on her head for a moment, until he pulled away. "Stay safe!" He yelled after her as she went into the house. 

lila's face fell slightly but she nodded her head  .    "    you'll be safe  ,  won't you  ?    "    she murmured  ,  toying with her sleeve  ;  it was a nervous habit  .  as she grew up  ,  she started to worry more about clint when he headed off on missions  .  giving him a quick hug  ,  she turned to head into the house to tell her mom  .

lila grinned . " watch out , dad , i might start getting better than you , " she teased , all in good nature . her dad was someone she admired , not someone she tried to be better than .

the house was near empty , except for one . whilst her mother had taken her brothers to do the shopping , she'd stayed back , anticipating a video call from her father who was out on yet another mission . but the sound of someone stumbling downstairs alerted the teen and took her attention away from her phone , hand instinctively reaching for the bow near her wardrobe door . " mom , is that you ? " she called , getting up and opening her bedroom door .

            clint smiled too , eyes glancing down at the counter . a finger tapped on the smooth surface as he took a brief moment to think . “ maybe after i catch my breath ? ” he hadn’t always said ‘ yes ’ to her about these things , but he’d been becoming more lenient to his obidient daughter . “ maybe mom will come out with your brothers . ”

lila appreciated the care her parents showed to both herself and her brothers , especially the little things such as making sure they were hydrated during the day . " i know , it's sweet . " she smiled , taking a sip from her own glass . " thanks , dad . when do you think we can get out and practice again ? " she inquired softly .

            he nodded , a small smile forming on his own face . he was just making sure . “ well , your mom has always been like that . ” they both had , but it was all with good intent . he fiddled with the glass for those few moments before taking a sip out of it . “ you’re getting a lot better by the way . ”
