            * there was no one nightwing  (and dick grayson , honestly )trusted more than barbara with practically everything . it seemed this partnership helped more with the cases he was unable to solve on his own — *  autopsy report shows a different time of death than originally stated, and toxicology showed an unknown substance in their system along with the alcohol . my guess is a slow-poisoning substance, maybe even a lab-created medication to fly under the radar reacting with the drinks they had that might , * a stretch , definitely , but nothing could be ruled out here . the feather left on scene was the first thing to catch his attention . sure , it was common to find them .. but the timing was too close to be coincidence . eyebrows knitting at the computer , he scans over the information again and looks back to her , * no clue . it’s what i’m trying to piece together .. * a pause , * i have a feeling they knew more than they should have , and someone knew they were a threat .

[  wether she was speaking of the court or about him,  it was all the same.  some things were never meant to change.  resting her head on her palm,  she listens to him,  ]  mhm.  old  gotham  district,  twenty-six  year old  entrepeneurs.   [  she types what she remembers were the names of the victims  ]   weren’t  they  poisoned?   or  had  too  much  to  drink—  died  in  a  car  crash  two  blocks  from  where  he  worked.   [  that was what the press had said anyway.  she shrinks back into her seat,  peeking over at dick,  ]   you’re  saying  their  murder  was  a  set  up?  that  /someone/  made  it  look  like  an  accident—  but  why?

            never stopped in the first place . i think they’re planning something / bigger / , * for as long as he can remember , the adrenaline rush was what he was chasing . even before nightwing or robin and before stepping into the vigilante gig , there was the circus . it ran in his blood . he follows her towards the computer , going to her side and leaning against the desk , *  you remember the murder of the wealthy young couple who moved to the edge of the city , yeah ? i found the autopsy report for them , a definite murder. but get this — the cameras that caught them leaving the gala , but never arriving home . in fact , they never arrived home .
