" Big fat hero — yeah , she told me — " he can't help but laugh a little at the description she gave herself and at least the support of the vastayan kept him together , at least , he knew he wasn't loosing his mind to some false hope courtesy of a parallel reality. False hope was all he felt he had , and the life they all could have had , a terribly annoying thought burns in the back of his mind , he tries to lock it away forever , the what could have been if he stayed there. And now he can only sit there and hope that Vi had a damn reason , so he could find the strength to forgive , a strength that he is digging with all he has to find. The night he talked to Jinx was revealing , lots of things said and he left her there waiting for him to talk all this out , to bring her to a safe space , in part because he didn't want her to do something stupid ( and he knew he was running out of time ) and in part because they actually needed her genius to catch up to with the army's tech and resources. He sighs, and his hands cover his face . He hasn't had any sleep in a good chunk of hours, and he desperately needs it, but there is stuff to solve. When he puts his hands down, he stays silent , listening , nodding in agreement. Scar was right , he can't tell everyone about this , it would be easy to sneak her in anyway , he only needed the approval of his friend , his support. " Thank you — for your trust ... and for everything " he had to say that , it was eating him alive from the second the conversation started , he was somewhat happy , or maybe it was just another bunch of false hope because he had a chance to get his friend back , after so many years. The guilt would never leave, but at least he could silence it.
