@batswayne     [    perhaps it was foreign for the both of them,  the peace found in the moment between selina and bruce.  through a busy,  almost chaotic place like gotham city.  a time taken for her to breathe seemed like a luxury,  she seemed smaller than in comparison to her big personality.  there was no smugness,  no anger behind that mask of hers which she never did hide well.  ambitions aside,  selina yearned for her companion in front of her to tag along on one of these rides.    ]    it depends.  is this your way of saying you’ll miss me?      ⁽ .. ⁾    i’ll miss you too.    
                        [    an earnest response,  no flush of the skin,  embarrassment,  or being shy.  confidence was her strong suit,  she’d keep it that way even in the face of bruce.  an honest smile surfaces,  an amused laugh unable to contain itself again,  to see batman for who he is and not the armour and symbol that’s worn.  a hand lands on her hip,  offering an incredulous look as if saying   "   are you serious?   "    ]    like you said,  a lady like myself can take care of herself.  you have nothing to worry about.  i’ll find you when i’m back,  you know where you can find me too.

            ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀(   subconsciously,   he leaned into the gentle touch.   lately,   bruce had been on the receiving end of kicks,   punches,   and attacks by criminals.   not   ...  this.   not something as careful as selina.   he was still getting used to gentleness,    and wasn't sure whether he wanted to shun or embrace it.   )
            ⠀⠀⠀⠀(    at the request to take his mask off,   he obliged,   his hand reaching up to slip his facade off as well.    his hair was a slight mess but the black makeup around his eyes was still prominent,  showing a stark contrast between the whites of his eyes.  he held the mask at his side with a loose grip,   the other one running through his hair and effort to straighten it slightly.  )    you won't be gone for long,   will you?   ...    i worry when you disappear.    i know you can take care of yourself,   but  —  if you need anything you know where to find me.   yeah?

@batswayne  it’s always this city with you.    [    it comes out quiet,  taking seconds before she chose to speak again as a frown is formed on her lips.  with her free hand,  she grasps the bottom of her mask before slipping it off.  dark,  black hair falling past and down her shoulders.    ]    but it was selfish of me to ask you of that,  you know how i am.    [    but her sadness is quickly masked by a smile,  a hand gently going to cup the side of her face,  thumb gently rubbing a small circle against his jaw.    ]    maybe next time,  but won’t you let me see your face before this cat has to leave?

veiled eyes followed the telegraphed movements , wary of what he had planned , before they returned to the man's face . 
            its shift of knife forced the woman's chin up , and silent tears ran her cheeks . 
            
            ' you could be an undercover pig , a brawler . . .  as much as i appreciate the flattery , i'm not about to risk my one advantage for the sake of your ego . '

            ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀(    bruce scoffed.    this was a much different situation than he was used to.   he raised his hands,    slowly,    showing he wasn't going to make any quick moves.   )
            ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀somehow i  REALLY  doubt a few cops could take you down,   even if they did get here in time.    how about this   —   a tradeoff.   me in exchange for her. 

the ghostface cocked its head , and its grip tightened around the woman's chest . he'd been too sloppy , the stranger was most definitely stalling , and now she was the only thing between him and a jail cell .
