In the midst of her anger, she shoves the boy away, heaving a roar throughout her quaking throat. "Away! Back, I tell you! Back!" Demands the girl, met with another jeering chuckle; something that burned her ears and made her fingertips numb. "Oh, dear, you know that can't happen."
He spoke with an eerily calm tone; reaching out to gently grasp the woman's trembling hands, kissing her palms. She slowly manages to shake her head, and eventually she finds herself sniffling and crying.
She physically cannot escape him. She's lit her house on fire, faked her death, disguised herself, beat his head in, ignored him, called him every unspeakable name under The Lord's eye; but nothing seems to deter him, no matter how much she tries to wade his calm, untouched waters. They turn desecrated at the slightest movement, provoking it seems to fuel his hidden anger.
