Red and spotty skin like condition considers as psoriasis.

What is psoriasis?
Psoriasis is a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the skin, causing red, scaly patches to develop. The condition occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy skin cells, causing them to grow rapidly and accumulate on the surface of the skin, leading to the formation of thick, silvery scales and red patches. Psoriasis can occur anywhere on the body, but it most commonly affects the elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back. It is not contagious, but it can be genetic and triggered by environmental factors such as stress, infections, and injuries to the skin. While there is no cure for psoriasis, there are many treatments available to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

Ways of treating psoriasis:
Topical treatments: These are creams, ointments, and lotions applied directly to the skin to help reduce inflammation and itchiness. Examples of topical treatments include corticosteroids, calcipotriene, and coal tar.
Light therapy: Also known as phototherapy, this treatment involves exposing the skin to ultraviolet light to slow down the production of skin cells and reduce inflammation. There are several types of light therapy, including UVB and PUVA.
Systemic medications: These are prescription drugs that work throughout the body to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system. Examples of systemic medications include methotrexate, cyclosporine, and biologics.
