@Dark_Writes Yeah I get that. I also find the writing itself is way more surprising sentence-to-sentence while pantsing, but the story more satisfying for most readers (esp younger readers) when they hit the plotted elements. When pantsing, I also find I have to actively manage progression towards the goal. One trick is to pants with just one or two secrets up your sleeve

@biscuitban I have written books both ways, though I tend to have trouble plotting. I get stalled out trying to resolve issues, so I eventually start writing and let the intuitive connections take over. So basically, I want to be a plotter but I’m really a pantser
