nice try, the mice aren't the problem anymore. cat keeps bringing 'em to my fucking doorstep. [ now that betty's here, ash rises from where she had been perched. her arms move from where they had been folded over her chest to reach for betty's cup. about half full. bringing it up to her lips for a quick sip, she assesses that it's a little stronger than it needs to be. regardless, she places the cup back in the brunette's hand. ] i was actually getting ready to leave. i've endured this exasperating display of raging hormones, underage drinking and horrible music taste for long enough.

weird. must have been the park mice, 'cause i know i got one :) { betty's teeth are visible as she gives a brilliantly bright smile, nails drumming along her red solo cup as she sways in place to the music. } i didn't know you'd be here! we could've gotten ready together, y'know.

i'd like to leave it as up for interpretation. where's the fun in explaining myself ? besides, 's not like the americanism's gonna stand out to you. [ ash offers a shrug, fingers reaching out to brush a hair strand back from the girl's face. ] there are the overly - annoying americans and then there are the tolerable ones. the in - your - face, aggressively american, or the ones who have these little quirks that are just that american. you can figure out where you fall.

is that a good or bad thing? { the unusually softspoken question comes with a quirk of betty's brow, lips twitching into a smile. } coming from a british critique as sophisticated as you, i don't know if i can take that as a compliment.

'wrong' and i don't mix. [ her eyes remain focused on printed words, letting a beat of silence linger between them before she glances up, gaze softening when she picks up on the other brunette's natural glee. what would be annoying questioning from anyone else, betty is allowed the privilege of being considered genuinely curious. nonetheless, ash still attempts to /sound/ annoyed in the way she sighs before answering. ] lady susan, jane austen. i'd argue that it's underrated and has feminist tones that no one gives it credit for.

wrong !! { with no amount of dawdling spared betty plants herself across from the brunette, grin wide with delight. } i'm (asking) about your book. giving you a chance to divulge all you've learned !!
