I feel like after the events of s4, class of '86 ( nancy, johnathan, robin, would have been eddie, chrissy, and jason ) and '87 ( i dont think any canon characters were canonically in c/o 87 ) were either robbed of a graduation ceremony or had to have a really small one with only the people in town ( cause the quarentine ), '88 would be the first ceremony thats a step back towards the norm. so like if nana wheeler wanted to watch nancy ( first character i could think of ) get her diploma but lived in indianapolis, she sadly couldnt
